2.Facility Structure: Whitespace, Floor & Cabinets

Raised/slab floor construction, structural and load requirements, floor heights, airflow sealing, seismic protection, and cabinet selection covering security, clearance, ventilation and cable management.

3.Electrical Power Design

Power delivery and N/N+1/2(N+1) redundancy concepts, UPS and generator sizing, power distribution units and remote power panels, emergency power off (EPO), and estimating overall power requirements.

4.Cooling & Air Management

Air conditioning fundamentals (CRAC/CRAH units), ASHRAE operating parameters and psychrometric charts, hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment, underfloor plenum airflow, and chilled-water, free-air and liquid cooling options.

5.Earthing, Bonding & Cable Containment

Earthing/grounding/bonding terminology and equipotential bonding, electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, the Signal Reference Grid, and separation, labelling and fire-stopping requirements for power and data cable containment.

6.Structured Cabling & Connectivity

Copper and optical fibre cabling standards supporting 10GBASE-T through CAT6A/7A/8, channel and connection topologies, high-density patching, alien crosstalk, and optical link-loss budgets and testing requirements.

7.Fire Safety, Security & Commissioning

Fire detection and suppression system design, access control and physical security, and the commissioning and handover process from test sequence through lessons-learned review.

8.Energy Efficiency, Metrics & Design Project Management

Data centre efficiency metrics such as PUE, CUE and WUE, energy-efficient IT and power-train design, and applying project-management disciplines (scope, risk, change control, work breakdown structure) to run a data-centre design project from initiation through a case-study exercise.
