HRD Corp e-TRiS Complete Guide 2026
Login, check levy balance, submit SBL-Khas applications, file claims, and fix common errors — everything you need for the e-TRiS portal.
What is e-TRiS?
e-TRiS (Electronic Training Information System) is HRD Corp's official online portal at etris.hrdcorp.gov.my. It is the single system that all HRDF-related transactions flow through: grant applications, claim submissions, levy balance checks, provider registrations, and trainee records. Launched in 2019 to replace the older e-SPTS system, e-TRiS handles everything end-to-end for Malaysia's workforce development fund.
How to Login to e-TRiS
- 1Go to etris.hrdcorp.gov.my in Chrome or Edge (Firefox may have display issues)
- 2Click "Login" and enter your registered username and password
- 3If you have forgotten your password: click "Forgot Password" → enter your registered email → check inbox for reset link
- 4New users: your company must first complete HRD Corp registration at hrdcorp.gov.my before an e-TRiS account is created
- 5If login still fails: clear browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete) → try incognito mode → disable VPN
- 6Contact HRD Corp helpdesk at 1800-88-4800 if all else fails
How to Check Your HRDF Levy Balance
- 1Login to e-TRiS as Employer
- 2Go to Dashboard → your current balance is shown on the main screen
- 3For a detailed statement: go to Reports → Levy Statement → select date range → Download PDF
- 4Balance updates monthly when HRD Corp processes your payroll levy payment
- 5If balance seems wrong: check your last 3 months of levy payments under Levy > Payment History
How to Submit an SBL-Khas Application
- 1Login as Employer → go to Claims > New Application
- 2Select scheme: SBL-Khas (for external training) or SBL (for in-house training)
- 3Search for the course by provider name or course code — the provider must have registered the course on e-TRiS first
- 4Enter training details: dates, venue, number of participants, participant IC numbers
- 5Upload supporting documents if required (training outline, quotation)
- 6Submit — SBL-Khas applications are auto-approved instantly; SBL takes 7–14 working days
- 7CRITICAL: Submit before or on the first day of training. Late applications are rejected.
How to Submit a Claim After Training
- 1Login as Employer → Claims > Claim Submission
- 2Select the approved grant application for the completed training
- 3Upload required documents: signed attendance list (with IC numbers), invoice, proof of payment, training outline
- 4Enter actual training dates and participant confirmation
- 5Verify claim amount does not exceed the allowable cost matrix
- 6Submit claim → you will receive a claim reference number
- 7DEADLINE: Claims must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the last training day
- 8Track status: Claims > Claim Status — processing takes 14–30 working days
Common e-TRiS Errors & Fixes
"Employer not registered"
Fix: Your company has not completed HRD Corp registration. Register at hrdcorp.gov.my.
"Course not found"
Fix: Ask your training provider to register the course on e-TRiS. They must do this before you can create an application.
"Application expired"
Fix: The training has started but no application was submitted beforehand. Submit a late application with a justification letter.
"Claim period expired"
Fix: The 30-day claim window has passed. Submit an appeal via e-TRiS with a justification explaining the delay.
Page not loading / blank screen
Fix: Use Chrome or Edge. Clear cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete). Disable browser extensions. Try incognito mode. Avoid Internet Explorer.
"Invalid IC number"
Fix: Ensure IC numbers are entered without dashes: 901231071234 not 901231-07-1234.
"Document upload failed"
Fix: Keep each document under 5MB. Use PDF format. Avoid scanned images above 300dpi.
