Is Microsoft training for government agencies HRDF claimable?
No. Civil servants in federal and state government agencies do not contribute the HRDF levy, so agency training is paid from the department's own training allocation rather than claimed from HRD Corp. Government-linked companies and private employers registered with HRD Corp are different: they can claim in-house Microsoft training through e-TRiS, up to RM10,500/day/group for a full-day in-house session. Statutory bodies vary, so check your organisation's levy status first.
How many participants do we need for in-house Microsoft training?
HRD Corp funds in-house training for 2–50 pax, for a minimum of four hours. The claimable course fee is capped per group, not per person, at RM10,500/day/group for a full day and RM6,000/half-day/group for a half day, so a full room makes the budget go furthest.
Which Microsoft courses are most requested in Sarawak?
Among the Microsoft enquiries we receive from Sarawak, Microsoft Excel (basic to advanced) and Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI for the public sector come up most. Power BI and Power Automate build naturally on an Excel foundation, so they are the usual next step.
